Supporting Information
We will try and make preparations to ensure everyone is looked after & the ride is enjoyable.
Try and be self-sufficient on the ride so you can resolve minor mechanical issues yourself. For example, punctures, chain drop, gearing issues, spare tubes & pumps. If not individually then as a group.
Please carry 2 water bottles on the bike. This is because the support vehicles may not see you or if they have other groups to deal with.
Make sufficient arrangements for all weather types. Raincoat, waterproof. sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, waterproofs etc.
Ensure you have a Helmet and all children and young riders are supervised.
Make sure your phone is fully charged and you have enough money to get you home in emergencies if you suffer an injury or a mechanical.
Please don’t leave anyone behind. If someone suffers an injury or mechanical stay together better to finish as a team a bit later than as a soloist.
STAY HYDRATED Bring electrolyte for your water.
PATIENCE will be the word of the day. This is a testing challenge & things will go wrong please show patience with the team & riders.
IF YOU STOP FOR ANY REASON NO MATTER HOW BRIEF, GET OFF THE ROAD.
Remember we represent more than just ourselves so please use common sense and show consideration to locals and other road users.
TUBES - Common road tubes & hybrid tubes will be carried by the support vehicle. You should carry at least 1 of your own so you can get going & don’t have to wait for the vehicle. They will be busy with others. The support vehicle will also carry a puncture repair kit & common bike repair tools as well as track pumps. As the Guild Wheel is a closed track it will be unlikey that the support vehicle will be near please ensure you liase with your ride lead to make arrangements.
Support each other on the ride & wait for the group & individuals to regroup.
The ride will begin and end at the Pavilion Café – Avenham park , you will then be led as a group to the Flag Market.
Pictures will be taken during the ride please ensure you inform the group leader if you wish to not have your photos/videos taken
