Diary

6th February 2024

The Hijrah Ride 2025 was advertised to get passionate cyclist to ride from Makkah to

Madina in January 2025 with the sole purpose of raising funds for Gaza. Each Rider target

was to raise £3000 with a Group target of £100,000. The riders would contribute £700

towards the ride with the remaining covered by corporate sponsors.

21st February 2024

The First Zoom call took place with the chosen 25 riders explaining the journey and the aim

to raise as much donations as possible for Gaza. The core team and the charity will be

focusing now on planning and also how to ensure the funds raised in Gaza get distributed

safely.

The First Zoom call took place with the chosen 25 riders explaining the journey and the aim

focusing now on planning and also how to ensure the funds raised in Gaza get distributed

safely.

21st March 2024

Aid for mankind are working with a charity group in Egypt to see if we can get three trucks

into Gaza (one of the trucks is from a different Aid for Mankind project). The two trucks for

money raised by the Hijrah Riders will contain rice, pasta, flour and oil. At present Aid of

mankind cannot cross the border and more due diligence checks will need to be completed

to ensure the money raised goes to the people of Gaza. In the meantime, request for

permits has been requested for the truck to go into Gaza.

The riders continue to raise funds for Gaza and we are nearly reaching half of the target.

30th March 2024

Aid for mankind have now received approval to take three trucks into Gaza. Few volunteers

from the charity and Hijrah riders at their own expense will be flying on the 18th April to

ensure the aid is delivered. Unfortunately, the only person allowed into Gaza is the driver

but the charity wants to ensure that there is no malpractice and the aid does leave the

warehouse. The charity will purchase the goods personally and facilitate/load the truck

personally.

At the same time, they will also visit the refugee camp near the Rafah borders to see if they

can do any work with the orphans of Gaza.

Back at home the Hijrah riders have now raised around £66,000 and are looking for

additional sponsors for the ride.

2nd April 2024

We are coming to the end of Ramadan with a few days left before Eid. Alhamdulillah, the

Hijrah riders are already near the target of £100,000 and we still have a few days left in

Ramadan.

We have a few days left in Laylatul Qadar to put food on a plate and water in a cup. Hijrah

Riders will continue to raise money even when we reach the target because every penny is

needed to help support the children of Gaza

As a reminder the first stage of the plan is to get humanitarian aid to Gaza. Aid for mankind

will be sending three truck loads into Gaza around the 18th April. The charity volunteers will

be out in Egypt to also investigate other projects they can work on. If, however, we get a

ceasefire soon and the borders open up then the plan for the charity is to go into Gaza

directly and deliver the aid to the orphans of Gaza directly.

4th April 2024  - £100,000 Milestone

We have reached our target of  £100,000 remarkable achievement. Hijrah riders will continue to raise funds for Gaza

10th April 2024

We ended Ramadan by exceeding our group target and raising £157,956. This is all down the

work and effort from all the Hijrah riders. Raising funds needed for Gaza will continue until

the Hijrah ride is completed. So, we request all brothers and sisters to continue making

dua and donation as every penny will be required in the coming months.

20th April 2024

As part of phase one Aid for mankind is delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. Two trucks

have been loaded with food parcels and will be heading from Cario to Gaza. The truck will

hopefully reach Gaza on Monday 22nd April.

15th June 2024

Situation in Gaze is making it extremely difficult to get aid across at present. Aid for

Mankind want to ensure the money is distributed safely and to the right people. The charity

is exploring all possibilities and will update the group as soon as something becomes

viable.
