Emergency Proceedings

Medical Emergencies:

• In the event of a medical emergency, riders should immediately notify a ride leader or

support personnel.

• If you need medical assistance, remain where you are if it's safe to do so. Others in

your group will help contact the necessary support.

• In case of a serious medical emergency or injury requiring immediate attention, dial

emergency services (In case of an emergency, dial 999 for the police. For an

ambulance, dial 997.) and provide your location details. Civil Defence: 998, For traffic

accidents: 993, Highway Patrol: 996, Border Guard: 994

Bike-Related Emergencies:

• For bike-related issues, notify the ride leader or support personnel.

• In the case of a flat tyre or minor bike issues, the group will stop to assist.

• The Ride Leader will determine if the group continues or wait for repairs.

• If a major bike breakdown occurs and cannot be fixed on-site, the support vehicle will

be signalled to assist. Riders may need to temporarily walk to a designated rendezvous

point.

Weather-Related Emergencies:

• In case of adverse weather conditions, such as desert storms or severe weather

warnings, the ride leader will make a decision to halt or modify the route.

• Riders will be guided to the safest nearby shelter if available. Follow the instructions

provided by ride leaders for safety.

Lost Rider:

• If a rider gets separated from the group, they should remain where they are, if it's

safe, and notify the ride leader or a fellow rider if possible.

• Riders are encouraged to carry a mobile phone with sufficient battery and, if

necessary, use it to communicate their location.

Communication:

• It's crucial to follow instructions from ride leaders during emergency situations.

• Maintain communication within the group to ensure everyone's safety and well-being.

Preparation for Emergencies:

• All riders are advised to carry essential items such as a basic first aid kit, mobile phone,

identification, and emergency contact information.

• Familiarise yourself with the route and key locations in case of an emergency.

• Remember, staying calm and following the guidance of ride leaders during

emergencies is essential for everyone's safety.
